EFSP Phase 29

 Application

The Faulkner County, Arkansas jurisdiction has been selected to receive an award under Phase 29 of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) based upon the available statistics. Congress has appropriated $119,760,000 million to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs. The Faulkner County jurisdiction's award is based upon your jurisdiction's total number of unemployed as compared to the total number of unemployed in all qualifying jurisdictions.
In Phase 29, Faulkner County has been chosen to receive $39,805 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.
A local board made up of City and County Government officials, Conway Housing Authority, United Way of Central Arkansas, and local church representatives will determine how the funds awarded to Faulkner County are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs administered by local service agencies in the area.

The local board was charged to distribute funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas around the country. The local board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds and any additional funds available under this phase of the program.

Under the terms of the grant from the national board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must 1) be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government, 2) have an accounting system, 3) practice nondiscrimination, 4) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 5) if they are a private voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board.

Programs that are new or do not have additional funding sources are not eligible. A complete list of eligibility requirements will be available with the applications.
